Last Call for Camp Corazón in Las Cruces A unique opportunity for young people who have experienced a significant death in their lives. September 13, 2023 Dear Friends, The Grief Center of New Mexico is pleased to announce that we are bringing our Camp Corazón Day Camp to Las Cruces for 2 one-day camps: Saturday, October 7th, or Sunday, October 8th. Each camp day will be from 9:00 am – 5 pm. Camp Corazón 2023 will be held on the campus of New Mexico State University. Camp Corazón offers young people ages 7 – senior in high school a day that includes camp activities such as a challenge course and fun games, as well as a unique opportunity for young people who have experienced a significant death in their lives to share feelings and memories with peers who’ve experienced something similar.  Campers will also come away with coping skills that can help them manage grief in their daily lives. We have so many talented athletes and here at Conlee and there is an opportunity to get them to be able to participate with scholarships. If parents need help, please know that there is help available. Sports can change so many of our little ones' lives. We are also partnered up with every kid sports. They pay registration fees (up to $150) for families that receive benefits & assistance. The flyer attached has more information.

Good Afternoon Conlee Colts, This week is International Walk to School Day, and I'd like to ask your help making it a success. International Walk to School Day is a wonderful opportunity for ALL students and staff to participate in our weekly walking school bus, even if this is the only day in the year that we all walk to school. Please see the attached flyers for details, but just so you know, we'll meet between 7:20-7:30am at La Fonda Mini Park just at the top of Montana Ave on Thursday, September 21st. All students will receive a reflective zipper pull as a special incentive. We've invited school board members, elected officials, the superintendent, and central office staff to join us. We hope to see you all there! Upon the occurrence of lightning at dismissal time, students who drive may be released based on principal’s discretion. All bus riders and walkers will be sheltered until the area is deemed safe. If you are picking up your child while a school is sheltering in place due to weather, you may do so at your own risk.
